Senon Lanka

A supplier built for the requirements others turn down

Senon Lanka imports laboratory and industrial equipment for Sri Lankan laboratories, universities and manufacturers, with the technical knowledge to read a specification and the network to fill it.

Who we are

Chemistry expertise on the supply side of the bench

The company was formed in 2012 to close a gap that working laboratories knew well: niche items that no local supplier would take on, and importers who could not read the specification well enough to get them right.

Today Senon Lanka supplies glassware, analytical instruments, reagents and industrial machinery across the island, and holds direct relationships with manufacturers abroad so that a difficult requirement can be quoted quickly and delivered correctly.

Our story

How the company grew

  1. 1998

Years on the bench inside a multinational reveal how hard niche items are to source locally.

  2. 2012

Senon Lanka is founded, sourcing specific instruments and chemicals on request.

  3. Growth

Recognition inside the industry turns one-off requests into repeat institutional supply.

  4. Today

A direct foreign-brand network covering four supply lines and full import handling.

Founder

From chemist to importer

Indika Dissanayake trained in chemistry and joined a multinational company in 1998. Working alongside industry experts, he kept meeting the same bottleneck: laboratories needing specific items that the market here simply did not carry.

Finding those items began as a side pursuit. A family business distributing publications across Asia had already built connections outside Sri Lanka, and those relationships became the first supply routes.

In 2012 that work became Senon Lanka, with a simple model that still holds: understand the customer's requirement properly, then find it and import it.
